Geocahing is a great adventure. All you need is a Gps and a Prize to get started.

California has over 3,700 treasure spots called Cache Sites.  I have found over 25 cache sites so far.  Here's what you need to do to get started.

  •   Log on to  GEOCACHING.com  and type in your zip code

for the cache site nearest you.

  •   Enter the coordinates in your GPS

  •   Print off a map from the cache page with Google Maps

  •   You can also print off Hints from the Log others leave to make it       easier to find the site.

  •   Print out your own Log Book (link above) to keep track of all the places you go.

  •   Drive to the location or as close as you can get. Hunt for the treasure.

  •   Your GPS points in the direction it wants you to go.

  •   The cache is usually in a plastic box or a metal tin. Once you've found it Take what you like out of the box and put something else in it for others to find. Don't forget to leave something worth having!
