England and the United States.
Also was
published in Bird Talk Magazine in September 2001 and
received a honorable mention in Artist Magazine in 2004.
I believe you have to
give it away to keep it, so I share my art with students
and older members of my community.

also firmly believe everyone has art in them; you just
have to find out what your good at.." |
Living
in the high desert, near Route 66, Nancy Lipking-Dodds
began her love for painting exotic birds.
I
didn't start painting until I was in my thirties.
My first love was Petite Pointe, needlepoint, designing
my own pictures. An artist friend encouraged me to
try painting, thus starting a new adventure.
I have
taken many workshops from notes artist and also have
attended a number of classes at my local college,
learning different techniques.
I have
tried several mediums but found pastels and acrylics the
most rewarding. my passion is large exotic parrots
and in 1997 started my business "4 The Birds." I
paint birds on actual macaw feathers.
I
enjoy doing portraits in pastel as well as landscapes of
places I have visited. My husband and I do a lot of 4
wheel driving to visit old ghost towns and historical
places. I especially like to paint old buildings
with a history. We are active in the Mojave River Valley
Museum in Barstow, California. We have taken
people from the Barstow Art Guild to places like Old
Woman Springs Ranch to do some Plain Air Painting.
